ALL - Written work

A quick message to let you know that I have now begun sending out e-mails with the written work that many students sent me over the inter-semester break. It's taking quite a while, because most people sent me their work in the last week or two before the 2nd semester, so I have a lot to correct. If you don't hear from me immediately - don't worry. I'm sending back your compositions via e-mail, but I'll be printing out your grammar tests, marking them and bringing them back to class.

As I said, many students sent me some of the work that was assigned to do between the two semesters. Many other students, unfortunately, haven't given me any work as yet. As I mentioned in class last week, the deadline for giving me such work was today. Some people haven't given me any work, which is worrying - it's worrying because you have a written English exam to do May, and you need practice - writing well in English is not something that happens with a little magic, but with the necessary preparation and over time. Please remember not to overlook your written work and remember to take responsibility for studying outside the classroom - it's in your own best interests.

Perhaps some of you haven't handed in work because of the snow this week... let's say that the case, and so the deadline for handing in your inter-semester work is therefore extended to next week (week two of the semester). After this time I'm afraid that I will not be accepting work done in that period.

NB - all groups - please bring your grammar books (and essay work from this week) to class next week.
